Weather Update: 12/4/17
The center of today’s storm system is right over the metro, and hence the significant snow will be well to our north and west. We could still get an inch or so this evening, but it probably won’t start till after the rush hour, as it is just into the western Minnesota counties now.
Much colder conditions are expected the rest of the week. It will be only a few degrees below average, but will feel a lot worse on account of us being spoiled by the mild weather of late.
There is still a chance of an inch or 2 of snow Friday (afternoon) as a clipper comes through from the north.
It is now looking like the temperature may get up to near freezing this coming Sunday, before reinforcing cold air plunges south next week, probably giving temperatures a bit colder than this week. Except for today and possibly next Sunday, the long-term model output implies temperatures staying below freezing for the 16-day model period.
